Bio: Corbin’s passion for higher education and student development began in his youth, growing up in a family involved in the university system. With both parents working at universities, he was naturally drawn to the higher education environment and dedicated to supporting students in their academic and career pursuits. Over the years, Corbin has developed strong leadership skills through a variety of roles, including volunteer, student, intern, instructor, and professional staff positions, all within the university setting.
Corbin is engaged in the Eugene community, committed to enhancing community health and well-being. With degrees in health education and educational administration, and over a decade of experience in health and recreation, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. His background in recreation and health education empowers him to foster positive change, inspiring others to adopt lifelong healthy habits.
Before joining the Department of Physical Education and Recreation, Corbin served as the assistant manager of both the Event Facilities Management and FITWELL units at UCLA. In these positions, he was responsible for overseeing the operations of several facilities, including the John Wooden Center, Los Angeles Tennis Center, Straus Clubhouse, Recreation Teaching Kitchen, and Pauley Pavilion.
Prior to his time at UCLA, Corbin was the assistant director for strength and conditioning at the University of Massachusetts. In this role, he managed all strength and conditioning areas and directed fitness programming for the university’s recreation department.
Outside of work, Corbin enjoys reading, listening and playing music, playing chess, exercising, and exploring the outdoors. He is passionate about opportunities to learn and grow, both for himself and in ways that allow him to share his knowledge with others.
